Solitude

Last Monday of May, you are here and I have a question for you: where did all the other Mondays go that we're now almost half way through the year? Hm, where are they? Yes, I'm talking to you, Monday!

For the last week, I have been enjoying photography. That's pretty much it. I have been carrying my camera around at all times, even if I still have my moments of being shy about it, I have photographed little snippets of life, I have seen photographs by others, I have read L'Atelier's student forum and laughed at my classmates witty comments, I have moaned about lack of inspiration and I have photographed a bit more. This last week, I have consolidated my love of photography and it feels good.

For this week, I have different plans. In fact, this week I would like to do a bit of thinking. You know, when you pause and make time stand still and you look at all your options and come up with a few ideas about routes and other such things, before pressing play again. Yep, that sort of thinking. And at the end of the week, I'll head over to Bristol for some relaxing girly time with my friend J and the cats. :

: a taste of summer
:: flip flops
:: cricket in the parks. Go Oxford!
:: BBQs. love it!
:: the jumping EP and my photographic assistant documenting it all.
:: almost in Bristol
:: LMrJ
:: watching the Eurovision. oh my, it is funny! very funny!
:: picnics in the park. the Brits do it better!
:: my iPod.
:: the cardigan I'm knitting... it fits... oh yeah :D

The sky is blue. I think of drawing blue skies when I was little, tongue out in deep concentration, and I'm happy. How about you? Any special end of May Monday treats? Are you writing your own inspiring Mondays to make you smile? Let me know :)

middle of the day

At lunchtime, that great time of day to photograph, just when the light is hardest, LMJ couldn't control her enthusiasm over the weather and says to EP: Fancy going outside to photograph?
EP: yeah, sure.

And so we did!

sunshine

It is Monday 21 May and Spring is finally here. Two months late, but who cares?, it's now ours. Preferably ours to keep, but let's begin by enjoying the week! What a difference sunshine makes, I can't highlight that enough even though I try hard by mentioning the weather pretty much every other post... note to self: change that!

This Monday a new phase begins for LMJ, the post-L'Atelier phase. You see, there is a time before and a time after this amazing photography course. Fingers crossed you'll notice the difference, I have already. I'm more aware of the world around me and the little bit of it that fits in my pictures, and I am even more motivated to photograph anything and everything. I was lucky enough to be part of a group of like-minded people who are enthusiastic and organised so we're keeping up the forum and the assignments and the banter, even though my level of banter in Spanish is pretty low... note to self: change that!

:: meeting up with Dr V ♥ ... how we miss you around here!
:: sunshine!
:: Spring. I'm gonna keep you close, oh yes I am!
:: L'Atelier and Jackie.
:: honest feedback, how important you are! thank you, Jackie.
:: my classmates at L'Atelier, what a creative and funny bunch!
:: keen volunteers to jump for me on demand!
:: curry on a Sunday. and Iron Man. and dolce fare niente!
:: sunshine!
:: knitting club.
:: photographic projects

I hope it's sunny where you are :)
Is it?

Little brother and I
Little brother and I photographing away

LMJ has been away, enjoying the Portuguese lifestyle and sunshine and amazing cuisine! LMJ has returned last night to a cold-ish grey-ish island and is struggling with adapting to the colder temperatures. LMJ has had a brilliant time with her family and wishes she could have stayed longer. LMJ looks tanned and with more freckles, but tell noone! LMJ has realised she spoke of herself in the third person from the age of 13 months. Nice!

As I finished writing the above paragraph, the sun began shining outside. I'm holding on to it and is good. Hihihi!

:: Little brother.
:: Mum and Dad.
:: sunshine.
:: Lisbon.
:: Portugal.
:: Portuguese food.
:: the Algarve.
:: the sea.
:: photography.
:: home.

Life is good. Life can be good. I'm holding on to that little bit of sunshine, it's making typing quite difficult but smiling quite easy. How was your Monday?
